How do you select materials that meet the exceptional quality expected of the Amels 80?
“The selection of materials is a collaborative process. The interior design is sourced externally, and the designers work closely with the interior builder, our Client and, of course, with us. Together we form a four-way partnership that defines the yacht’s materials. Samples are created, discussed and refined with the end Client before the final selections are approved. When there is no Client yet, such as with a spec build, a dedicated Client team represents the Owner’s perspective throughout the process. From procurement, we then source the interior based on the detailed specifications that result from those design choices. Our role is to ensure a clear and balanced agreement from the outset and to monitor compliance throughout the build. We work closely with project management to make sure everything runs smoothly and according to plan.”
Can you give an example of a material or detail that makes this yacht unique?
“Almost everything we source for an Amels 80 is special, nothing is standard. There isn’t one single material that stands out above the rest, because it is really the overall composition that makes her unique. The harmony between interior and exterior design creates a sense of balance and sophistication.”
